rottenx8 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 So, I have recently got a 70 SS 454. Everything runs well. Engine has been rebuilt. My issue is with the fuel tank. When I fill it up, it leaks towards the front of the tank, onto the rear diff and drips on the ground. I can push on the trunk, and it sloshes around and drips, like it has no baffles in it. I have yet to be able to get to look at the top to see it is the seal. I am looking into just buying a new tank "kit". Any recommendations on what type, model, or company to buy from? I found, what appears to be a nice kit from OPGI. I am hoping that this will fix my issue with the fuel gauge as well. When I fill it up, the gauge only goes to 3/4 tank. Quote
Chevy Dave Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I have a 70 SS454 and I just replaced the tank with one from Summit Racing. My tank is not vented except for the gas cap. The California emision cars have vents. I belive that the tank was from Tanks Inc. and is galvanize steel. Good fit no leaks, I would recommend it. 3 Quote
