jft69z Posted April 30 Posted April 30 So, we're running low on the Club baseball caps. I tried contacting the name/number that was listed as the possible vendor in the past, and so far it doesn't look good. I searched for the same style hat we currently have, and it doesn't show up anywhere either (except 'vintage' styles on ebay, etc). The only reasonable style hat that somewhat resembles what we have is pictured below. Thoughts/suggestions? I put in a design quote for both style hats with our logo, waiting for price quotes. After getting those, I'll still call and talk to someone, see what they say about quality, and their suggestions. This is our current Cap: This is what I could find that is the closest match: EDIT: I did find this, appears to be comparable to what we have, but maybe not as 'low profile' as the one currently on my desk right now. (the description does say low profile though) 3 Quote
Marks71 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 The second one is definitely a change but I like it. 1 1 Quote
DragCat Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Just my .02 I'm not a flames on hat fan. Also all the hats I wear are "trucker style" which have mesh backs (which IMHO allow airflow for cooling) 6 Quote

The 'low profile' hat we currently have is more to my liking, and mesh backing isn't available on those ones that I've seen (so far). I agree though, mesh is better for ventilation. 3 Quote

Leghome Posted April 30 Posted April 30 we need both mesh for hot weather and solid for the colder months. A least that is my preforence mainly because there is not as much insulation on top as there was at one time 3 2 Quote

I don't wear hats, but do keep the good ones for when I do lose all the insulation up top 🙂. 3 Quote
Dtret Posted April 30 Posted April 30 As you are well aware, I have a big head so I don’t care much for the low pro. They always feel as though they are falling off. 4 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I don't care much for hats, I have a couple I keep in car on package tray from nationals and a chevy one my employees got me when I retired usually wear my stray hat if it's real sunny or hot. Don't want to burn the bald spot on top of my head 😅 3 Quote

I worked with a guy who's head was so big, I'd walk by those real large garbage cans and tell him he forgot his hard hat. Also told him his head was go big, it had it's own weather patterns and gravitational pull. His responses aren't able to be mentioned here 😁. 3 4 Quote
Chevyz14me Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Do we have to be a Full dues paying member to be able to order one when they're available? Quote
Chevy Dave Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Why would someone who is not willing to support our club want one of our caps? 2 Quote

70 Owner Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I don't care for the hat with flames. I prefer solid color hats with no mesh - I think it's a classic/classier look. Maybe offer choice of black or white. 4 Quote
Glen Posted April 30 Posted April 30 5 hours ago, clint w said: Maybe some XXL flexfit hats for us big headed members?? You read my mind. As I have the quintessential Polock Head (I can say it, I’m Polish😂🤣), I find these style hats to fit the best. Additionally, years of marriage has exacerbated follicular abandonment, so hats also serve as protection from the sun wreaking havoc on my pasty coconut. Perhaps explore a few variations if it’s not too cost prohibitive. 2 3 Quote

Good tune as originally done by Five Man Acoustical Band and remade nicely by Tesla on their live “Five Man Acoustical Jam” album. But yes… I also immediately thought of Mark and his (formerly) blond, flowing locks 🤣😂 PS - DUMP THE FLAMES MOTIF FROM THE HATS ALTOGETHER… just my 2 cents 1 1 Quote

Maybe offer choice of black or white. I want to take that one step further. I also, prefer non-flame hats. I like the non-mesh hats mostly because they keep your head warmer when it's cold, and they keep the top of your head from getting sunburnt in the warmer/hot months. But I don't mind a mesh style hat at other times of the year. That being said, I think it would really set this club apart from all other clubs, if we had hats that would somewhat color coordinate with our Monte Carlo cars' colors, all with our standard FGMCC logo/patch. Black cars - black hats Brown cars - brown hats Green cars - green hats Blue cars - blue hats White cars - white hats Etc., etc. I know that the color of the hats won't exactly match our cars, but I don't think they would need to. We all love the color of our cars, otherwise we wouldn't own them, and we'd own a Monte or Monte's of a different color. Quote
