Jared Richey Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Last week i got news I never wanted to hear my great Friend Marshall passed away. He was more of a 2nd grandpa figure in my life and we had adopted him into our family. This last week has been a whirlwind dealing with everything but we buried him Friday. He had no family so we were it. I have never owned a Buick. Although he made it very clear he wanted me to have his 67 Camaro he also wanted me to have his mom's 71 Buick Electra. I never thought about the great trust that really was until now. He was very close to his mom and dad. This was his mom's car, the car they bought because it had Air Conditioning so his sick Dad could leave the house without melting. He had it painted in 2013 and I helped him find mostly NOS parts to fix it up. Marshall never made it to a FGMCC meet or owned a fgmc (he did have an 86 aero and 86 regular ss) he knew all about the club and my adventures going to these meets, and he also met and was friends with several members here at our local gatherings. Just thought I'd share being left this heirloom just hits different. He wanted both cars at the funeral but due to bad gas in the Buick I couldn't fix it in time. So today after a new carb, cleaned tank, etc I made sure it made it to the Cemetery. This post made in Memory of Jim &Reba Evans and their son and my Great Friend Marshall. Please pray for our family. After the Graveside where we drove our old cars, we met for Friday lunch as we have since about 2009 with Marshall. It still just don't seem right. 6 Quote
