cny first gen 71 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Today while I was out grabbing the last minute stuff for camping i was leaving the store driving up the isle and some lady was pulling out of parking spot and ran right into the side of my truck. The whole right side of my truck is damaged including right rear tire punctured. In my condition I couldn't change the tire. I called Bob Bardeau to see who his shop uses for road service. Well being the person he is he dropped what he was doing hopped in his car and came to the rescue to change tire. The spare is so rusty it wouldn't fit on the hub so he then took me to a tire shop and I got a new tire installed on the rim and came back and put it on. Bob and I met a few years back because of our montes and have become good friends since. I can't give enough praise for what he did today he truly saved my butt. Thank you sincerely Bob! 12 1 1 1 Quote

cny first gen 71 Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 The worse part Willie she wasn't backing out she was either pulling straight out or possibly cutting through because it seems like i would have seen her if she was parked there. The front of her car has a lot of damage had to be towed away. 6 Quote
Rob Peters Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Steve, I am glad you are OK. Thank you to Bob for rescuing Steve. It amazes me the way people drive. It seems stop signs and stop lights are now only a suggestion. A couple days ago, on a 4 lane road I came to a stop at a light and 3 cars in the left hand lane blew right through the red light. There was no excuse for her if she was pulling forward out of a parking spot. Did you notice if she was looking at her phone? What did she have to say for herself and that she didn't see you. I try to be extra careful when driving through parking lots and backing out of parking spots. What also surprises me is when I am backing out of a parking spot I am shocked at the number of people who will walk right behind a car that is backed half way out of a parking spot. rob 5 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 She knew she was in the wrong, not sure if she was pulling out or cutting through the spaces. But no one got hurt but she got more damage than I did looking at it. I probably should have taken pictures 4 Quote

FWIW some like mine record audio and your speed. Im not worried about the speed recording, but my verbal tirade may be an issue 🤣 5 1 Quote

(They are all ok, but the camera told the Police Officer that the other driver was a liar!!!!). It happened a week after they were in there other Grand Fathers car. 2 accidents in 2 weeks. I said i need a camera. LOL I left the speed on the camera but had to take off the audio off as some of the cuss words i would use aren't even invented yet, especially if they did some stupid s.....! 5 Quote

Her car was a little older, had high miles and I think the Ins co totaled it. Glendia did not see her coming either. Over $5000 damage to my 23 Envision. stuff happens unfortunatly we are on the giving sometimes would have rather been on the receiving end for a change. 3 Quote
