Each ramp has a normal bottle jack says 5 tons im guessing if i ciuld fig out how to not slide a lil when pulling into and how to position jack under should work for what it is. But fir now i have some safety measures in play...jack stands just in case. I do like the height and that abke to get under sides. I've got a set of regular ramps I've had for years that work fine for oil change and some stuff but the extra amount of lift sure would have helped settling my fat [censored] under there for transmission pan. But yes a lift would be great but don't have room right now.

As for the ramps wanting to slide, I’ve found it’s less eventful and safer to use your floor jack to jack the car up, then slide the ramps under.

I’d use the jack to get off the ramps too.Ā

I bought a set of these so I could get my Camaro SS off the ground. I still had to make extensions to fit under it.

I was just disappointed that they weren't low enough to go under the Camaro without extensions.

Steve, this may be a stupid questions but I will ask it anyway.Ā  I really like those ramps.Ā  So my questions is this... Once you have the car to the level you want it, can it be locked into that position and the two lines be disconnected.Ā  My concern if you can't remove the lines by way of a quick disconnect at the ramp or the foot pump it it may be hard to get under it from the front without the hoses getting in the way.

Yeah, I heard also that you cannot disconnect those. So therefore, that's in the front the whole time

I guess the moral of the story is, get a 4 post or a 2 post lift. That's all there is to it. If you want full access, it kind of sucks, because there's a lot of cool s*** out but I do like that. They have something similar fromjegs, that does that what's the height on that, though, is it over 15 inches? Uh the wheel

I couldn't remember what the name of the other portable side lifts were, at first I was thinking quick-lift, but those are different. A few of the Corvette members used a unit called MaxJax I think. I don't know much about them, but it seems you can move them around when needed. I think they have a limited lifting range though.

I think they’re meant for sit down work. A little pricey if the plan is to upgrade in the future though.Ā

Yeah, or with a roll chair. It would be better than nothing,Ā  or those scissors type jacks.
