714024SPEED Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Also don't rule out a single stage paint if your doing a solid color. Single stage often times are more durable than two stage base clear and cheaper, easier to repair if needed. Our Cavalier is cranberry red and was painted in single stage in 1990. 5 Quote
Leghome Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Axalta/Dupont has always been a good company for matching factory colors. Other companies can but I am most familar with Axalta 2 Quote

420ponies Posted June 24 Posted June 24 My 1 quart of single stage Nassau Blue? $323.00 . But, good to have if anything needs attention. Not cheap anymore. I can remember the clear was $1,000 a gal. I have a receipt for that since I had to buy 2 gal. , and they reimbursed me for half the value after I had a rep. come out to inspect the clear after paint. The 2nd coat much better, but still not the best. Did what we could, I was happy with it. It's showing the body work on it now (17yrs),thinking about a repaint in the future. I just need to drive it, since it was off the road for 4 1/2 years with all the upgrades. 5 Quote
Jared Richey Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Thank goodness for companies like Revolt Auto Paint. They dont sponsor race cars and give big discounts to bigger buyers and pass savings along to us. Their base coat for a premium OEM color like that blue is around $500-600 gallon now. Their top shelf clear is around the same. I use the $250 clear myself and like it. Just FYI if you are shooting pure black or pure bright white go with SPI base its still like less than $250 a gallon. 2 Quote
