Guest silent72 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 hey wusup, im gonna change the fluid on my th350 this weekend. i've heard of people putting type f fluid instead of the dexron stuff. should i just fill her up with type f? people say it'll shift better due to some additives in the type f. Sam (Bones) Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I think Phils72 can answer that question for you Quote
kc8oye Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Type F has a higher "coeffecient of friction" (it's not as slippery) so it makes the clutches grab harder. It's generally not reccomended that they be mixed. If you make the switch to type F, it might be worth changing it, driving a few miles and changing it again for good measure. you can also acchieve the same thing by using a shift improver like B&M's trick shift or some such with your Dexron-III/IV fluid.
