70-72 fender swapping

Has anyone in this group ever changed the mount for the radiator support from a 70 to a 72 front fender? I got a set of both I'm thinking of drilling spot welds and swapping. Little nervous about ruining a very good set of 72 fender. Would like to know if anyone has done it.

My brother and I have been wanting to try this exact thing. Looks like that's all the factory did besides the locating dowl placement for the fender extensions. 

We will be watching this closely. 

Haven't heard of anyone trying it yet.

When I put 71-72 fenders on my 70 Monte, I went the other route of modifying the fender extension instead.  I guess it would work either way.  I just felt it was easier to learn on an extension rather then a fender.  Extensions are much easier to find and cheaper to replace then fenders.
