Is this still around? I recently bought a 1971 running project that has zero carpet in and I'm concerned for the noise having a 5yr. It's got a V8 SBC with headers , Cam, and super 40s flow masters. I'm wanting to put on floors under carpet! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (what to buy and were to buy)?

There are a lot of similar products like DynaMat. I cannot remember the name of what I used but I got a real good deal on it. It does help and then the ACC carpet with the mass backing really helped. We had to have the stereo set at about 22 on the volume before and now we set it at 9 to 11 and have a normal voiced conversation plus it has cooled the floor down so much that I can drive barefoot.

Dynamat is a great product and still available, as are several alternatives with lesser known names and much lower price tags. 

Since it's going under the carpet anyway (and if budget is any concern), you might want to look at an unlikely alternative that I have used successfully.  Frost King FV516 Duct Insulation Self Adhesive Foil & Foam comes in 12" wide, 15' long rolls and costs less than a fourth of typical Dynamat prices per square foot. 

I picked mine up at Home Depot but you can also order it on eBay if you don't mind paying shipping.  Here's a couple of links:

I used something similar it's like a foil backed bubble wrap I got at home depot or lowes (dont remember where) but both have it. Worked well , I used spray adhesive to hold it in place. Worked well.

I used Noico, I liked that it has a texture that flattens out when you've rolled it enough. Agreed on the mass backing for the carpet, it's a little harder to handle but it's going to do a better job than the stock style pads. Don't forget to get the wheel wells (including inside the quarter window area) and the package tray and rear seat divider.

Rock Auto is probably the best price for ACC carpet if you're fine with the stock style loop.

They have complete kits for 68-72 A body GM products. The also break them down into sections, doors, floors, trunk

Yes. Trimming will be necessary if you have buckets. Easy cut with scissors. Took about 1/2 hour to install. Great directions (pictures) also. Not a lot of reading so it was good for me. Lol.

Excellent,  I will look into getting the kit ordered. I ordered the kit the the carpet company offered but I like this better. I may be selling it later

They also have one for the doors and quarters. It goes under the panels. I got it but have to still work on the windows. I’ll post pictures when I have them on
