TheBMan Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I'm replacing the A/C condenser on my 72 and have run into a roadblock and looking for tips. How does the condenser come out past the front bumper trim and/or core support? There doesn't appear to be enough room to push the fitting that's part of the condenser through the core support because the front bumper/trim is in the way. Something has to move and I'm looking for the path of least resistance. Any tips? I'll be beyond disappointed if the bumper and entire front of the car has to come off just to replace the condenser. Help! Quote
Rob Peters Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Remove the bumper, grill, filler panel and anything else in the way. That is what I had to do on my 70. None of these parts take long to remove. rob 1 Quote
TheBMan Posted June 28, 2021 Author Posted June 28, 2021 Darn you @Rob Peters, you weren't supposed to tell me that! That's an awful lot of work to replace a serviceable part. Engineering misfire! Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Quote

Engineering misfire! Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Not sure if it is possible to do without doing it the way I did it, It seems like a lot of work but it really isn't bad. I think I had all of these parts off in about an hour. Regarding the bumper, it can be done by just removing the bolts in the bumper without removing the bumper bracket's and that eliminates adjustment issues. It also allows you to clean and detail areas you can't usually get to. rob 2 Quote
TheBMan Posted June 30, 2021 Author Posted June 30, 2021 The condenser is in. I didn't have to remove the bumper, just the fill panel; plenty of room after that was removed. The bolts were a little stubborn but I got it done. Thanks for the tips! @Rob Peters Quote
