72 Wheel Bearing Replacement

To tap the outer race further into the rotor, I used a large socket with a short extension. I inserted the extension there so the socket will not bounce away once I've hit it with the hammer. I only have fingers on one hand so I cannot hold the socket in place while hammering.

Ingenious, thanks for posting. I quite enjoy reviewing these step by step jobs. I did this as part of my front end overhaul a while back and used large washers ground down to the right diameter to get those races in. I don't know how many times I was working on the car and just wished I had a third hand. Can't imagine having only one and you're definetly doing more than many people dare to tackle with two!

Well, I've always been kind of handy...

It was a fun challenge. :)
