Looking at the engine picture there is no a/c compressor or heater hoses.

Go to the Interior Tech Archive and look for headliner install tips by Rich G. It is a comprehensive guide to do a quality install if you take your time and pay attention to the instructions on the spray glue. You can’t rush and if you pull TOO hard you can rip out the seams. Gentle use of a hair dryer helps get wrinkles out but use no more than medium heat, don’t get the nozzle too close because you can scorch the headliner pattern. There is a reason a shop gets what they get. It’s not overly difficult if you are patient and methodical.

Factory Replacements were coded CE for Chevrolet Engine along with a number that correlated to the warranty claim. The number itself had nothing to do with the car per se, just the warranty claim.

the engine code is very hard to read. It LOOKS like it might be TKW. If so it was from a chevy truck, Also can't make out the date code but it looks to be 1973 which could have made it a 1974 truck built in fall of 1973. Hi Bob, in your first message you said the code was CRE which is a 1970 350 with a Turbo 350. A Chevrolet engine (Code CE) would be a warranty replacement block. If the code is CER it is either of these engines (check the casting date on the back of the block. For Chevelles the standard dash was the sweep dash. If you ordered an SS Chevelle you got the Monte 3 pod dash without woodgrain, with idiot lights (clock was extra). If you ordered the U-14 Special Instrumentation Package you got the Monte 3 pod dash without woodgrain with Tachometer, Speedometer, Clock, Fuel Temp and AMP gauges with Oil Pressure light at bottom of tachometer. The U-14 package was only available on V-8 engines and only in 2 door Sport Coupes, Convertibles and El Caminos. Not available on station wagons or 4 door cars (post or pillarless). Monte Carlos got the 3 pod dash with woodgrain and idiot lights standard (clock was standard). If you ordered the U-14 Special Instrumentation Package you got the 3 pod dash with woodgrain with Tachometer, Speedometer, Clock, Fuel Temp and AMP gauges with Oil Pressure light at bottom of tachometer. The U-14 package was available on all Monte Carlos because the 350 V-8 was the base engine. It was built by a guy in the Seattle area in the 90’s. It is very nicely done. It is actually a 1970 that he put a 72 nose on because he liked it better, not cause of a crash. If I remember correctly it is a 402 big block car. The owner at the time did everything but the paint. About the only way you could tell it wasn’t factory was that he used hatchback style struts instead of torsion springs to keep the trunk lid up when it was open. I saw the car on a Seattle Classic car dealers site in the early 2000’s and don’t know where it went after that. The original owner was a nice guy to talk to.

I'm guessing foreign because of the seat adjuster style, the position of the seat back release and how short the seat pedestal is. Most American stuff sat on taller pedestals and the bottom cushion was thicker usually. Just a guess though

You do not need to get under the truck to see the block casting number. If you look at the top of the block between the brake booster and the distributor you will find the raised casting number.
