  1. Great idea, Ron! I’m looking forward to it, and this will give me an excuse to fix up my car even more😜
  2. Praying for Somerset. 🙏 Ron, thanks for all your hard work.
  3. Welcome to the club Joseph! We may end up hitting the big 4-0 at Somerset with some last minute members showing up🤩
  4. The Rockies sounds like a fun place to cruise a Monte Carlo! I’ll probably visit tire store in the next few days to see what I can come up with on my 14 inch rims. Thanks everyone for the information.
  5. I bought a 71 international scout a few months after I bought this car so I’ve always baby’d my Monte when driving it so I figure the only cornering flex I will need would be to keep up with the guys at the meet, going through those hills and curves in Kentucky😜
  6. Yeah, that’s my main concern as well. I figure I’ll go with the biggest 14 inch tire I can get but then it may look like too much tire.
  7. Hey everyone, I’m going to replace my tires (12 yrs old but still look new) before I head to the Somerset Meet and currently have 14 inch keystones on it that replaced my 15 inch keystones that I put on the car when I bought it in 1977. I’ve got a complete set of 15 by 8 refurbished rally wheels that I bought 10 years ago but have decided that it just wouldn’t be “my car” without keystones. Yes the car should have 15 inch wheels on it, but…Anyway, my car is stock with a 350, so what are the pros and cons of keeping my 14 inch wheels on it? Thanks
  8. OK Jared. Will do.Thanks for that information.😎
  9. Great information there Guys. And yes, Tonka man, my corners have some rust as well, but I’m not sure to what extent since everything is still original. And B-man, I will definitely check into that kit as it looks like money that would be well spent. And it’s good to know they have kits for the front windshield as well. Mine doesn’t leak that I know of, but as I mentioned, it has not been rained on in almost 40 years so I may have the glass guy pull it as well. Thanks guys!
  10. That makes good sense to me. Thanks.
  11. Thanks Michael. I actually have Jared‘s number from a previous parts purchase and meeting him at the 2023 Eastern meet. Not sure why I did not think to contact him, so thanks for jarring my brain.😀
  12. Hey, just wondering exactly what that restrictor restricts and where a guy could obtain one? I’ll spare the details on the issues I’ve had since my Mechanic replaced hoses in front of the fuel tank and more than likely discarded it not knowing it existed. I just found out from this thread that it existed. thanks.
  13. OK guys. Sounds unanimous. To a glass shop it will go. I’ll have to do some searching for one as the only one in our town closed a couple years ago. Thanks for the advice.
  14. I’m sure it’s been asked before but could not find any specifics. Anyway, I have just made plans to go to the eastern meet which is a five hour drive and my 71 Monte has not been rained on in almost 40 years. The rear window (vinyl top) has leaked ever since I purchased it in 1977. I’m looking for any advice on sealing it myself or would I be better off taking it to a body shop? It’s not a show car, but I do want it to look as nice as possible. Thanks guys.😎
  15. Hotel is booked. Looking forward to seeing everyone! And all those other Chevys will be neat to see as well. I may be guilty of drooling over some of the Chevelle‘s, as they are my second favorite car.😎
