  1. Thanks. Mounts were stopping all real progress. Whats BAT?
  2. Sorry for the delay. Yes when you stroke a motor you need a deeper shallow section of the oil pan. This gives clearance for the longer stroke of the crank. And yes my oil pan was touching my crossmember. If I had the original 6.2liter crank they make a shallower thin section pan I could have bought. I just fixed that issue. I had wrong mounts. I knew I needed tall and narrow mounts but ordered wrong kit with adapter plates and short and wide mounts by mistake. Now all good with frame clearance but hood is going to be close. Will be putting on carb and air cleaner soon. Hood will be off for a while longer while waiting for new hinges.
  3. I have the thinnest pan available for a stroker. It's slightly deeper than regular Muscle car pan.
  4. I installed LS3 427 last week. Everything looked good. Put transmission in yesterday and now have oil pan clearance issues. Previous engine was 350. I am using Tall and Narrow energy suspension motor mounts. Oil pan looks like it just touches frame. I can't go with any shallower oil pan because of stroked crank, so I have to go up with engine. Has anyone had experience with this? I heard that a Chevelle sb 307 had taller frame brackets, but shallower motor mounts. If that is true combining taller brackets with my tall mounts might work. Shimming brackets and or motor mounts is what I was thinking. If there is off the shelf parts I could order that would be my go to. Cutting frame is not an option for me. Experienced input would be greatly appreciated. Will post pics later. TY.
  5. I might have to get one. Just put in stroker LS with high rise intake and carb. Stroker pan just touches frame so i have to raise engine. I have no experience with any fiberglass hoods. This is the one i was looking at from US Body Fiberglass. https://usbody.com/product/1970-1972-chevy-chevrolet-monte-carlo-fiberglass-hood-2-cowl-induction-style-bolt-on-heavy-duty/ . I like the look personally. I'll be following to see recommendations.

    My 1970 Monte

Picture of as purchased in 2023 with bench seat, column shift, 350 4bbl, turbo 350 and 10 bolt rear. Now has Scat 90 buckets(just got a pair of strato buckets to restore) floor console, full QA1 level 2 suspension and a 12 bolt 4.11 with c clip elim and wilwood rear disk brakes. New master and booster with all new lines. New 275-60 r15 Mickey Tompson. Installed new Tanks gas tank with in tank fuel pump and 10AN supply with 8AN return for soon to be installed LS3 bored and stroked to 427 Blueprint crate motor with built 200-4R 2600-2800 stall. Trying to run 11.5
  7. Yes it's now mounted passanger side frame rail next to exhaust. It's flush with the bottom of tank. I will make a small heat shield to keep the pump motor from exhaust heat. Since I have new sending unit and pump I did not want to spend more money on new tank with pump. Tank looks like $700 plus to support 625 HP. If I can't use what I bought then I'll begrudginly spend it. So far so good.
  8. I am doing a LS 427 stroker swap and don't see any good place to mount my external holley blue pump.I have QA1 sway bar that limits room between tank and rear and sides look to close to exhaust. If you have pics that would be great.
  9. Curious to know which way you went. I have whole new drive line going in this summer. I bought a 200-4r worked for 700hp (California Performance Transmission). Gear Venders and a th400 though would be very nice too.
  10. How much are you looking to get for your Monte?

  11. I bought the OPGI kit. Window felts have no rubber under them, sharp metal onto paint. Did the doors and fit good. Have not done roof rails yet was waiting for 1/4 windows rear seal to come in. 1/4 window seal with metal seems good. Trunk seal seems good. So I would not get the window felts, but quality of everything esle seems good.
  12. Sorry to hear that. That's a big fear of mine.
