Bought my 72 from a reseller who obtained it from an estate. I removed dash to start process of repairing radio towers… to discover only the right speaker was there on a chop job of original bracket with an Alpine 4”. No speaker on left, well… the “chop job” installer found out the 4” would not fit at dash.. so he just dropped it loose into the dash.
Starting with this inspiration and that I still had Concord tweeters on the pillars, I ordered 3.5” pair (whizzer cone, but use an electronic crossover to amp) from custom auto sound.
I didn’t use a Twinkie box opting for a Rice Chex box. I printed your photos, upped the size to create my version of a template. Then 22 gauge 12”x18” sheet from Home Depot, a sabre saw, drill… and a lot of patience to recreate as close as possible.
