My old 72 had these https://mcbparts.com/ems-billet-aluminum-hood-hinges-pair-70-72-monte-carlo-machined-ms149-47m it looked good can’t really say it made opening the easier. You still have to adjust the hood correctly.

I don’t see that happening anytime soon Rob. It cost almost as a house payment to board our three dogs. But I do look the pictures that everyone posts seeing if I spot my 70 and haven’t seen it :(. I know the 72 pro-street that me and my late father was building the guy who brought it said he was going to finish it but I haven’t heard from him since he brought so I don’t know if it got done. Got the Nomad and the El Camino.

It’s been awhile since I’ve visit. I see all the usually names are still about. I’ve been Monte less since 2021 when I let my 70 go back in 2021. I still support GM products by having a 2017 Denali xl and a 2023 suburban diesel. I was moving stuff around and came across my 10+ year banner.

Hello monte family, Yes I have been hiding. A lot of changes have taken place since 2018. Sold the pro-street 72 Monte in 2020 to pay for a vet bill for a dog. July of the same year got raid of the 70 Monte as it was just sitting and not having the money or time to make changes felt it was best and didn’t want to be the person saying I’ll finish it one day and it never come. Me and the girlfriend took our 2014 z71 double cab pickup and traded it in for a 2021 Tahoe z71. The Tahoe was good the payment on it was really bad compared to the the pickups. After a year of owning the Tahoe we took a visit to Carmax who paid off the Tahoe and gave us $3k over the payoff. So we took a chance with a Carmax car and got ourselves a 2014 Benz clk550. It was an okay car front end sounded like it had an issue but we took it back to Carmax who let us swap it out for a 2016 Camaro ss redline which also had issue (transmission would hunt and pick for a gear). Carmax again let use swap out the Camaro. At this point it was the last swap we could do so it was either you like what you get or all well. We left their lot with a 2017 z71 crew cab which 48 hours of owning it, it comes up with a check engine light. Took it to Carmax who really couldn’t service the truck and sent it to a local Chevy dealership around the corner from us for them to have to replace fuel injectors which took a week. Went down to Carmax to see if they could do something as we were without the truck and there wasn’t, so she stopped at the Chevy dealership and came home with a 2022 Camaro ss. We did the double car payment for a while but just couldn’t do it anymore. So we started the car hunt as we had funds for a down payment. Now I’m still a GM person just don’t wear a bow tie anymore. We came across a 2020 Cadillac CT6 premium luxury with under 30k miles and the dealership was whiling to take both the pickup with just over 50k miles and the Camaro with it 1300 miles on a traded. we are nearing the repairs being done in our townhouse due to a major water leak ($40k worth of damages). And I thought I would check in with my old Monte family as some of you I see on Facebook and some I don’t. But I am alive and kicking. My mom still has the Nomad and the El Camino.

Steve we had planned to come in February but in March the girlfriend had to take a COVID test as she was sick. The health care provider told her straight up oh you probably have it before doing the test. May or June my mom had to take a COVID test after being around someone for less then 5 minutes. We thought it was best not to go up even for a day which was the plan to start with. Cats are easy to take care of for a few days but dogs that’s a whole another story. Needless to say I’m still kicking even had to take a COVID test myself after a co-worker tested positive when he returned from a thanksgiving break.

Hope everyone has stayed safe last year. Nothing new for me other then working and trying to pay bills. Homeowner life and pet life has made me miss my monte. But there is the El Camino and Nomad hiding.

It’s a little different then the old pickup we had. The push button transmission selector is wired. I haven’t seen any of the Suburban’s in my area.

As some might have saw on Facebook I got raid of my 70 Monte yesterday. It was a really sad day almost as sad as when my dad passed way. I owned my monte for 25 years and always said I would not her or get raid of her. Well times got tough she wasn’t been driven. I feel it was a good choice but it did hurt when the tow truck operator loaded her on the flatbed. But I put my family first as we were out growing our double cab Silverado. The first gen monte is my love and I’ve gotten to know most of here, I wish the club the best moving forward. We got our hands on a 2021 Tahoe.

Finally hang my 10+ year member gift up. We were going to put in in a frame but this looks better. Life keeps taking changes, sold one monte and still have one just not with me at my townhouse.

As much as I would love to join my monte family I am unable to join ☹️. Funding has been a major setback with joining the club this year and the cost of the hotel and prepping the car for a long drive I just don’t see it. It sounds like Carlisle will be a big hit with hopefully all the members that do go and I wish those that do a safe trip.

I have that same tie along with a Pontiac tie. Paid about $5 each for them.

It looks to me as if the bracket is in the wrong place. I’m no where close to my one of my cars to provide a picture. But the bracket on my cars bolt to the bottom side of the pan not between the pan and body of the trans. If it’s mounted in the wrong place it could be using the wrong bolts to hold it to the trans.

The townhouse is 13 years old, we are buying from the original owners who has updated some of the place.

This time last year my girlfriend had just moved back home. Next month we become home owners. We had just started out to see what was in the market we could afford. I had asked a couple co-workers of mine what their mortgage was. To my surprise we were paying more in rent then my co-workers. So we are going from a 1,192 sq foot apartment to a 2,500 sqft three level townhouse. The Montes are safe as they are still hanging out with the Nomad and the El Camino at moms.

1970 gobie beige color input?
monte70car replied to keith72monte's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Keith it’s a plain color. My 70 was originally that color with a gold top and gold interior.
