  1. That is what I learned. Back to redoing the original seats.
  2. It is a 2 door. The interiors I have came from a 68 & 69, back in the day when they were a dime a dozen. I will measure the second one to see if it is different. The seat I measured was wider.
  3. So I have learned that a Chevelle rear seat will not fit a 1971 Monte Carlo, yes I'm using my Chevelle as a donor vehicle. I have striped the seats, however there are fine metal rods through the burlap. They are toast!! How important are they, and can they be replaced? Thanx
  4. I put the original bench seat from my Chevelle in today just so I could sit in her when I needed to move her. Actually, the bench seat is pretty comfortable. I still want bucket seats, but the 68 Chevelle seats work for now.
  5. Yea, my intent was to sand down whatever I could reach, spray paint prep, and finally the rust encapsulater.
  6. Thanks guys. I ordered some from eastwood, should be here
  7. That was what I was thinking. I don't see people talking about doing it, so I Thought there may be a reason why not to do it.
  8. I have completed tear down. I was thinking of using rust encapsulator inside the door panels. There is some surface rust in there and was wondering what people think of treating it now that there is nothing in the interior.
  9. I am planning on putting a LQ4 and 4L80e into my 71. I have the same questions. I have only found a few here that have done it. The search does not work for me, so all I can do is go page by page.
  10. As long as they don't tell my wife. 🤣
  11. My racing days are long over. This one will be a daily driver.
  12. Not this year, unfortunately. I would like to meet members at some show soon.
  13. I ran the numbers and it showed 350 manual. I do have the original block, however the 4 speed is long gone. I was told by the insurance agent that 349 were made in 1971 with a manual gearbox.
  14. I will burden you all with my issues as they appear.
