Did you buy them from American or a shop? They don’t offer a 4.5 back space on the website. Unless I missed it…which is entirely possible!

I’m looking at getting a set of mags for my ‘72 and am wondering what the maximum backspacing is for the rear wheels to fit our cars? I’m thinking 5” but I’d rather note guess.

Yeah, for sure. I typically look for a mirror that uses the separate mount. Like what’s on the drivers sport mirror for the ‘72 custom. From there I’ve ground the base to make the mirror sit level. So I’d expect that there would be some tweaking required no matter what. But since SS396 is selling them the idea of making one is mute.

I’m sure he could do it but he’d need one to work from. I don’t have one to send him. If someone wants to loan one I’ll talk to him and see if he’ll give it a try.

I have a cousin that I’m close with. He has a large 3D printer and I bet he’d give it a try.

Hey guys, is there anyone repopping the drivers door sport mirror that was on the ‘72 custom? I looked but didn’t see anything. I did find that most places show the 68-72 chevelle sport mirrors to fit 70-72 Monte Carlo’s but I’m pretty sure they don’t sit right. Seems like somewhere in the past I’ve seen someone using them and they tipped inward. OR…it’s all in my head…I’m getting old…🤣
