  1. I have a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo. I am replacing the control arm, bushings, tie, rod ends, etc.. I removed the front coil springs there height is close to 18 inches when sitting on the garage floor. I’m trying to choose a replacement spring. When I took the springs off, I found that one of the springs looked as if it was bent so my question is if I don’t have build sheet how can I tell what size spring belongs there? I also noticed on this assembly that one spring was installed upside down so I’m just at a loss at this point. What direction do I go in? Hoping one of you guys can help
  2. Has anyone used the Frame FX kit by Hellwig on their Monte Carlo? If so what transmission cross member did you use? If you box in the frame it looks like you need to change the way the transmission cross member mounts
  3. Has anyone used the Frame FX kit by Hellwig on their Monte Carlo? If so what transmission cross member did you use? If you box in the frame it looks like you need to change the way the transmission cross member mounts ? if you have any pictures would help.
  4. Thanks for replying I was under the impression that the frames had a tendency of being a little spongy and adding stiffeners by boxing in the frame couldn’t hurt. Now would be the time to do it
  5. Asking for opinions on boxing the frame in to stiffen it. Is it a good idea or a waste of time? Is there any reasonable priced kits? I have seen some but very pricey.
  6. Thanks working on making the frame repairs. considering boxing the frame. Any opinions?
  7. Here is what I have so far. All body mounts are off. I needed to repair the frame area in the door area. Not to bad so far
  8. Keith What did you use for adjustable tracks? I will need to slide the seat forward and back so both my wife and I can drive
  9. So at this point all I have bought is the seats. It is a conversion from bench to buckets. I am not skinny 260 lbs I still need the mounting hardware and seat adjusting tracks. A bit confused from the comments. Can someone post a link to the best option.
  10. Has anyone used the Procar bucket seats before Interested in feedback here. They look to be a nice alternative for the resto mod conversion
  11. Thanks. I have a factory stock 350 four barrel engine. Only mod has been the intake and carb. Does the shorty headers come with equal length pipes to the collector? My car is being set up for street. Not going to be racing it but we all know how difficult it is not doing a burn out. In my opinion the fun is the looks you get and that traffic light to next light accelaration. I do like the room in the engine bay with short headers. Next is trying to figure out what exhaust size and mufflers to use. Wish I could just hear several different set ups because how she sounds is also on top of my list.
  12. Has anyone ever tried both shorty headers and long tube headers on the same engine and car? If so what was the results? I like the idea of easy fit and a clean looking engine compartment. Let me know
  13. That's the reason for the question I don't know what year or for that matter what car it came from When I purchased my car I got lots of different parts this rear being one of them. Looking to identify it so maybe I can sell it The spring perch is directly over the axle unlike a Monte where the springs perch is mounted forward. The shocks on this rear also go in front of the axle as opposed to the rear of the axle like on a Monte
