  1. what did youdo to it and how does it hold up. Should I just throw for a built 12 and be done? and I mean something that has traction, I know you could run 1000hp through it with the skinny factory rubber. Not looking to launch it drag race style, so it won't be receiving hard hits like that.
  2. gonna watch this one. waiting for my supplier to call me with an lq4 (low compression) and a 4l80 combo.... I bought the ls swap handbook, if you get stuck, I'll fax some pages for you. lol
  3. I just picked up a complete hydroboost unit and all lines out of a 2000 Astro. $150 www.hydratechbraking.com makes the bracket to adapt it to our firewall. as far as rotors/caliper combos, I read a thread here recently, but cannot find it again, that went through what fit what. http://www.pro-touring.com/forumdisplay.php?43-Disc-Brakes hope it points you in the basic correct direction.
  4. 340mm (13.5 inch)fronts. I really wanted to get the rear brakes and suspension done first so I can get an accurate offset for when I order wheels. I havea complete hydroboost set up sitting here as well. I'm hoping to bust windshield with my face with the stopping power. well, maybe not hoping.....
  5. 07 C6 calipers (there, but not in the picture) just waiting for the supplier to dial in his pay pal so I can buy the caliper brackets. have to run min. 18" rims to clear it all....and extra strength polident to keep grammas teeth in her mouth when I slam the whoa peddle. it's the exact same stuff Kore3.com uses in their kits, only I get it for wholesale (less said bracketry) and I don't have to mess with shipping heavy boxes across borders.
  6. lol...21 people (and counting) don't get sarcasm.
  7. 330mm (13 inch) should give the Monte some whoa juice in the rear...still piecing together the front set...but I think I saved a few hundred over most kits I've seen
  8. how high do the bushings hold the body off of the frame? an inch, less, more?
  9. http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?70891-72-Monte-Carlo-Goes-PT some more info. Nick used 2 different backspaces on his rear wheels...
  10. 5.5 inch backspace is 0 offset on a 10 inch rim according to the chart. trimming wheel lips doesn't bother me at all, I just need to firm up the rear suspension so everything stays put. I'm planning a rear disc conversion.....and kinda hoping it doesn't effect the mounting width.
  11. https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace I'm looking to do a similar set up on mine...let's share some info so we both don't waste our time and money to make this happen.
  12. So he's not selling them anymore? I've seen them from $60 to $100 each... I'm not worried about the price so much as the quality
  13. thanks.
  14. for some reason my computer doesn't like Leo's site. anybody know what those fender patch panels run for price?
  15. what are the details? backspace, width etc etc. I really want to stuff a set of vette Z06 wheels on mine and I'm nearly mentally prepared for the spacing and heartache challenge of it.
  16. going to see a LQ4/4L80 in an 06 3500 tomorrow....reading HP books LS engine conversion book. nice when the info is focused on the project at hand....simplifies the learning curve big time. engine/trans/harnesses for $1500 is a deal I don't think I can pass on....besides, it leaves a ton of wiggle room in my engine budget for forced induction. muhahahahaha
  17. thanks for the info. my plan is to run an 18" rim in the back with a short sidewall tire, (haven't plugged the dimensions into the calculator yet to keep overall height the same...probably be a 35 series) that for sure points me in the right direction. thanks again
  18. hi guys, this is my first post because I'm contending with this very soon. what's the limiting factor in the rear wheel wells? is it the wells them selves or is it suspension/frame rail? does anybody have a body off frame shot? I'm looking at coil over kits (if they'll offer up some more real estate) and I'm just wondering what it will take to get tire in the range of 325-345 in there. Thanks Warren p.s. it's a 71
