I am going to be ordering a new interior kit for my 71 Monte. The car is originally a jade green interior, which I can't stand. My 70 was a dark green interior, which I liked. Is the 71 dark green kits the same color/type as the 70? Of course the pattern is different, I am only concerned that they are the same shade of green. Hard to tell from what I see online. Thanks

I have a 1971 Antique Green Monte with a dark green vinyl top soon to be installed. The stainless/chrome top trim is suppose to be half painted the color of the vinyl top material. Would anyone have the codes available for the paint (on the stainless) to match the vinyl? Does anyone have the prep procedure to get the trim ready for paint? First full restoration and endless questions! Thanks for any help! Randy.

I am currently restoring my 71 Monte SS (Canadian built). The build sheet shows option D35, Mirrors: LT REMOTE & RT MANUAL CONTROL-CUSTOM SPORT. Of course there wasn't a passenger mirror on the car when I bought it. Doors were replaced. I doubt there are any originals around, but I would like to replace it. Anyone have experience with the kit available from SS396.com? Price is $350 for the kit and I only need the passenger side. Are the mirrors identical to the originals? Are they a high quality part? Thanks for any opinions.

I purchased an AMD gas tank isolator kit for my Monte SS project. It has the isolators for on top of the tank, but it also came with rubber isolators for between the straps and the tank underside. Are these suppose to be on a Monte SS?

Looking to find a supplier for the correct vinyl top material in dark green, so far black and white are all I can find. Also who supplies the best/most complete interior kit? I see OPGI lists an interior kit, but have heard horror stories on wait times. Thanks, Randy

Thank you the responses, seen the clip kit before, but the Auevco part # for the rocker clips is just what I'm looking for. Anyone know the part # for the vinyl top clips?

Has anyone developed a list, with part numbers, for each of the various trim pieces on our Montes? Also where are these clips and brackets available from? Nearing completion on the body work and paint, so I would like to get all the fasteners together so as not to hold up the progress. Thanks.

I was wondering if a guide may have been created as to what colors the various components are originally painted, eg sway bars, frame, brake components, shocks etc. Also what areas are painted body color (eg. upper dash area body color, interior color or black?). Would be a real time saver as oppose to researching each and every component. Too many parts have been repainted over the years to be sure of originality.

Anyone have an update on this subject? Have my original load leveling air shocks and they still move. Shafts and housing are both rusty. Could redo the shock body, but the shafts will rip the seals all to hell. Anybody rebuild these yet? Are there any replacements available that would be close in appearance and function? Want the system to be fully functional again. Thanks.

I got the frame bracket from Muscle Cars Only. Perfect repo with the part number stamped on it.

Anyone have plans/pics of a cable style torque strap? I am having a hard time catching 4th gear in my 427/4 speed monte. I believe engine/trans are torquing over causing linkage binding. Doesn't look like floor contact with shifter but possible. Thanks for any assistance.

I am looking to replace the rubber mounts attached to the ends of my trans crossmemeber mount on both my big block and SS 71 montes. I seem them listed somewhere before, think they were listed for a buick/olds, but can't locate them again. Any one know where I can get them?

Here's some pictures of my new SS project: 71 Monte SS Project Is it normal for info to be displayed below photo? If you note that car has AC, yet the kickpanels have the two pullknobs. Kickpanels match interior and appear original, is this normal?

Just picked up a 71 Monte SS (Z20 code on trim tag). Problem is car was store for a long period of time in a barn, which fell on it severely damaging the roof. I intend to replace the roof skin, will the replacement skin for a chevelle work? Also I have the load leveling compressor, but the components on the rear end ( switch, shock guards ) are missing. Are these available anywhere?
