Andy Gargagliano Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Can anyone suggest a brand or model catch can that will mount in my 72 Monte Carlo.Thanks. Quote
Murphy Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Hey Andy, I got creative to install an overflow can that was never installed. Bought this universal tank at O'Rielley's Auto parts for $8 and a piece of aluminum stock (1/2" x 1/8") at Home Depot for $3, bent the aluminum bar and drilled one hole in the plastic shroud. It looks OK but mainly its functional! Quote
CrazyDavey Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 you can get ones that will bolt directly to the radiator support to..kinda like this one on the Chevelle...the Monte had one that was just little smaller... Quote
Andreas Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 If you can get a hold of a 68-72 Buick A-Body overflow tank, it can bolt to the passenger inner fender and looks stock... http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/Overflow.htm Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Heres the one I have on mine, it was on there when I got it so I have no idea where it came from. Quote
Leghome Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Steve that looks like the one a friend gave me last year. It is a universal and I have yet to put it on my 72. LOL LOL Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Yea Larry looked like it was a pretty easy install too. Quote
cbolt Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I purchased a generic black recirc tank from Jegs and mounted it adjacent to the hood latch behind the grill. Functional and out of sight. I would try to get a pic but my car has a show panel installed and I don't really want to disassemble it right now. Quote
Outrider70 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Drive down to your local friendly Chevrolet dealer and have the parts guy look up P/N #14070997 for the tank and 15630112 for the cap. Came in around $39, fits a 3rd gen F body, mounts to the pass side inner fender and had a return line nipple molded into it. Quote
