overdrive Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I got a little time to work on the SS a couple weeks ago. Pulled the dash, cleaned, polished the lense, and dyed and painted it. Glad to get this done. Dan Quote
70mcarlo Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Nice work, Dan - your dash looks great!!! Quote
overdrive Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 Thanks everyone. I considered using a spare woodgrain overlay that I shot with satin clear. It looks really nice, but decided to stay with the original look. Dan Quote
QuadGTI Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I'm thinking of restoring my dash cover also not a big fan of the wood grain look Any aftermarket ideas out there? Quote
NewTimer Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Any chevelle dash will bolt up, it is black instead of Woodgrain. They will not have the seat belt hazard though. Quote
QuadGTI Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 That might be an option Black goes well with my interior and exterior Quote
NewTimer Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If you have a good dash, you could always paint over it. If you don't want to do that you could do what I did. Plastidip it, I did this because I didn't to paint over a good dash and plstidip is basically a rubber coating you can peel off if 1. you don't like it or 2. your ready to remove it here are a few pictures of my dash with plastidip: Quote
QuadGTI Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 This is what I have now, it has a few chips and cracks. I would like to replace it with same layover but I have no idea where to find it again Quote

QuadGTI Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Haven't seen any MC SS at any cruises yet in GTA. I mainly go to the Queensway Canadian Tire Sat cruise. Are you going to Tim and Brendas cruise in July http://www.timandbrendasplace.com/ Quote
LostnFound Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Hi Mario, I usually go to the Uxbridge cruise night on Thursdays as they have a great regular turnout. Quote
Daryl Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I was thinking about this and a more durable replacment for the vinyl top. Why not spray the dash insert with bed liner. It has about the same texture as vinyl. Whatcha think? Quote
