Hey guys, just installed new wheels, derby caps and rings. What's the best way to remove the cap without scratching the wheel?

Thanks, Paul

I use a plastic trim panel removal tool on mine. On my original derby caps I could get my fingers under the outer edge and pull them off.

I just grab them in the center and pull them off, but I have a good grip. Otherwise, you can buy an actual hubcap removel tool. They are hooked on the end and also have a rubber mallet on them.

Like others have said or a big flat blade screwdriver (tape the blade with duct tape to avoid scratching).

Go to Harbor Freight they have plastic pinch tools. Use one that is 90 degrees. You can also pry with them. This is a must get set. Can use them alot on your car. Won't scratch anything. Really cheap to buy.

Like Scott, I can slip the tips of my fingers between the wheel and the cap I can remove them wuth my finger tips. Of course you could also go to the kitchen, grab your wife's special fiber spatula she uses in non stick frying pans and pop them off with that...... just remember to return it to the drawer and dont let her catch you using it.

Thanks for all the great ideas. Going to buy a set of the plastic pinch tools. I have a lot of work to do, so they should come in handy.

Thanks, Paul
