The whole thing has just come off my windshield, I have the metal piece the mirror slides into laying in a cup holder. Is there a particular adhesive that works best to re-attach the mirror bracket?

Thanks.

Hmmm confused

the base of my 70 & 71 attaches to the roof, they don't have the pieces that glues to the windshield

they sell that adhesive at your local parts store

I'll look into the roof mount but I can see where it was attached on the windshield.

Interesting.

That's odd. They do sell the rear view adhesive like Sam said but mines attached to the roof. Maybe someone changed it up

That one had to be changed along the way sometime. The windshield mount didn't come along till years later than our cars.

I'm just happy to know that the only problem I have with mine is that I just have a screw loose. Like I haven't heard that before! nutz LOL

While we're on the topic, mine is loose at the pivot closest to the roof. Is there a way to solve this as well? It seems kinda weird that the mirror has 2 pivot points, as I just tend to grab the mirror head and adjust the lower section. So is the mirror actually 3 pieces?

Remove the rubber cover at the top of the mirror support arm and there's a hex head bolt that you can tighten.
