I had an Aerocoupe back in the day and sold it to buy my 72. Came across my 85 around 10 years ago and HAD to buy it. 49k miles, untouched all original and the guy was selling it for 3100.00. I never drove faster to the bank in my life! LOL! Quote

I don’t blame you a bit. Great looking cars. I know a guy that has an 83 SS with 3100 miles on it. He keeps talking about selling it but he won’t ever let it go. Has not moved in 15 years. Started probably 5 times at most. I bet you wish you still had the aerocoupe. Have you looked at the price of them lately? WOW. 1 Quote

Brew Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Sanding....sanding....sanding.... started with 800 and progressed to 2000. Wet sanding. wet the piece, sand with flat stick, wipe with wet towel. Dump water, rinse bucket & towel well. repeat about 300 times actually finished sanding today. Polishing tomorrow. Then bumpers, chrome & mirrors etc 1 Quote
montebob70 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I did some sanding today too. Taking the roof down to bare metal, using 40 grit. I just put Raptor liner on the under side Tuesday. Thought it would be a good idea to do the roof while the Monte is still on the rotisserie, before putting the body back on the frame. Bob 2 Quote
Jared Richey Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Painted a customer monte i sold him 5 years ago. He LS swapped it. He's also a paralyzed vet! To the person above painting parts separately, I hope they don't turn out different shades when it's assembled 1 Quote

RON T Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Started prepping rear air shock guards today for painting, and found a letter Z with a circle ⭕️ around it on both guards. Not sure if it stands for anything or has any significance. 1 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Could be a N or a Z, not sure where they were made or if that even has anything to do with it. 1 Quote
Rob Peters Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I was also thinking it is an N too. Looks like you need a little weld repair on one of them. rob 1 Quote
Dtret Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 When I blasted mine it was on there also. Possibly a machinist’s logo. Like a signed piece of art. Lol. 1 Quote
willie Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Yes the "Z" "N" was on the ones i have also. 1 Quote
RON T Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 A new mystery for the books. Turn guard sideways it’s an N. But from bottom to top, upright , it’s a Z. And yep Rob. Looks like something bigger than a gravel hit the passenger side one ..the asphalt at the dragstrip maybe ?:).. just kidding 😂 Quote
RON T Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 The more I look at it, It forms a better N than z .. you guys are right. Quote
Brew Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 Got her put together except for mirrors & hood latch. Bringing her home tomorrow! Woo hoo! 1 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 Looks great! Did you get the hood latch problem worked out? Did you put the extra spring in the release mechanism? Quote
