Interesting. Mine goes to 3 when disconnected...goes to a little over 3/4 when full, a little lower than 1/4 when I have 5 to 7 gallons left. Beginning to accept that the guage may just be possessed at this point. 😆

Aaron, it may be your fuel sender being the issue.  When the tank is completely full, disconnect the tan/light brown wire in the trunk near the latch assembly on the drivers side.  Check how many ohms is there between that tan wire and ground.  If the tank is completely full you should be between 84 and 90 ohms.

I would make sure that you make sure you have a good ground connection and good connection on the tan wire.  If you don't have that 84 to 90 ohms you could be looking at a bad fuel sender unit or a bad connection on the top of where the tan wire attaches to the fuel sender unit or bad ground wire from the fuel sender unit to where that ground wires attaches to the body.

First startup for the 1970 Monte this year. It fired right up and ran great. It made driving to work on a Sunday a little easier.

Finished sealing and painting the tunnel modification and removed the column and auto brake pedal to make way for a third pedal and floor shift column.

Yeah I'm getting 68 ohms at full. Do you happen to have a part number for the sending unit you are using?

The Chevelle steel inner fenders fit with some very minor modifications I'm told.

Had mine out today, just to start it up after it's long winter nap. Checked it over and took it for a short ride everything seems to be working fine. Hopefully my body will be able to do the spring time projects.

Finally got a day warm and dry enough to do the rear spring swap.....

Nice to get one step closer to going for a drive. :)

Next is all the "under the hood" stuff.

I wonder if they shop at the same place for shoes? Scott likes red,Dennis likes white. I'm not a fan of those sneakers. Scott, Glad to see those rear springs going on your Monte . Let me know how it drives.

Just to clarify, the shoes in the picture aren't mine. My feet are a lot bigger that those.  :)

They belong to the guy who did the body work on Montelishi. But I knew that they'd get a good response, anything to keep Dennis in the conversation.  :k

Yeah, I finally worked up the ambition to get it done. :)

I'm hoping they give Montelishi a little more stability. They've got a tighter coil, but are a bit shorter than the ones I took out so I also added the brass spacers.... Just to be sure.

Yes cargo coils are a bit shorter but will hold the car up better with weight in trunk. Spacers give it a little extra lift, I have them in mine too to get the height I wanted.

Gives the tire a bit more clearance from the fenders too. 👍

You don’t need to bait me. I always am available to jump in on a conversation. Even if I have nothing relevant to add. 😝
