I acquired a crashed but rust free frame and did this.

Hi Dennis, on the back of the frame I took 3/16' plates to a tool shop and had them punch the holes out and fixed all the holes I had access to.  I did not have access to the front of the frame until now.  And fortunately Chevy Restoration World had the repair washers for $2.50ea.  

I stick welded as I wanted the top and bottom smooth so the bushings would sit square.

I have the same concern about the body alignment as well.  Chevy has a hole for alignment pins.  I may have to wait until I get the body mounts welded on before I fix the frame or when the mounts do come in align the hole in the frame before I weld the mounts to the body.

And I was thinking the same as you... if I replace all the "washers" and mounted on top, all the mounts would be elevated.  Since I only have these 4 + one I am committed to flush.

You do fine work.  As sloppy as the old mounts where, I bet 3/16 of an inch here or there will not make a difference.  Especially since the mounds rot and age-out after 20 years regardless of being garaged or driven.  It's and ozone thing.  We only had about 4 mounts holding the frame on while she was driving it daily.   

I have to keep reminding myself. It only took 'em 40-minutes to put it together the first time!

Installed the rear sway bar, proportioning valve, removed the a/c evaporator to rebuild the a/c system and did some cleaning. Time to order a few parts and consumables. I'm hoping to have the engine and trans in about 2 weeks but also have to drop some trees and grind stumps in that time frame as well. I'm hoping to have it ready to go for Goodguys at the end of July in Puyallup Wa. If not definitely Goodguys Pleasanton Ca in November.

As a side note, a long 1/2 inch impact extension fits perfectly I the body alignment holes.

3/16 is quite a bit considering the original frame holes were inset in the frame. It takes me 11 minutes just to find a tool. lol.

Last night I hit all the very minor surface rust in the trunk with Mar-Hyde to prep it for some new speckle paint in the trunk. 

After work today, I'll vacuum all the factory sound deadener that didn't make it into the 5 gal bucket, and then I'll start installing the new sound deadener and insulation on the ceiling to get it ready for the new headliner.

I stopped by the metal yard today for a slice of 3/16"  I'm gonna practice on some coupons before the main event.

Finally was able to get gas tank back in today, of course the guage still don't work properly but at least it's back together and running.  Maybe do a couple cruise ins this week if I can walk after beating myself up today. At least a few nice days this week.

I got the inside of my Monte vacuumed out, and then I used headliner adhesive to glue the silver faced insulation/ sound deadener to the ceiling.

That way you can find all those little screws, etc that you dropped while working on your car. ;)

started out today sitting in the garage enjoying the view, took some of dennis's advice picked up that wrench, but put it down rather quickly, turned to sit back down , new belts and oil filter along with thermostat staring at me , picked that wrench right back up. got somethings done.

Good for you giving it a second go. lol. I’m sitting here now rattling the list of in my head and probably won’t move until dinner. Na. I’ll go do something, it’s not raining for the second straight day. That’s gonna end tomorrow. Ugh. It would be better if I had a nice cold adult beverage but I would have to get up for that, so no.

Busy day! Picked the 70 up from the body shop after she received a little cosmetic TLC. Also checked out the charging system in the 72 and while making sure she was charging properly, she turned 36,000. When she arrived from the original owner in 2017, she had 31,500 miles.
