She sits perfect If your question was for my Monte, then here goes, it has stock springs, rear aftermarket sway bar (1"), and air shocks with approximately 15-20 lbs of air. Ride is perfect, and stance is perfect too Thanks, Matt 1 Quote
Stuckin70s Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Well I could not attend the big meet in PA. Fortunately the Monte Carlo Nationals were close. Hope y'all had a dry weekend. I did get another idea for a custom receiver... 11 Quote

He changed the rear springs to a Chevelle station wagon, said it rides like an old Cadillac. 3 Quote

Thank you for the option and info. Thanks,Matt 3 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted July 1 Posted July 1 That looks great Matt ! Fantastic stance and an eye popping color as well ! I love the wider tires. What size tire did you choose to go with ? Also is there any rubbing issues ? What about if the air shocks should leak down ? 1 Quote

FL 72 Monte Posted July 1 Posted July 1 What I did to the suspension all the rubber was shot along with shocks so on the rear I put UMI control arm kit but the main thing to get the stance that I wanted was from 2015 that I pulled up on line from the club and that was to use moog cc507 works perfectly with stock shocks and on the front used tubular control arms and stock moog springs and shocks did not want air shocks 6 Quote

I cannot say for sure, due to the previous owner passing away, however on inspection the springs do not appear to be 53 years old but on the new side. How new? That would only be a guess... From a dead stop it will "Smoke 'em" At WOT everything is stable and no other traction arms etc. are needed, and much more stable than without the sway bar in the rear, that is what really solidified everything. I hope that this helped 😁 please feel free to hit me with more Q's anytime Thanks, Matt 4 Quote
72 Monte Carlo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I've only got to stretching out the new headliner more, to form a crease in the fabric, so it gives me a line to know where to apply the adhesive for a permanent install. Most of all the wrinkles are out before gluing it in. 10 Quote
72 Monte Carlo Posted July 4 Posted July 4 There's a local car show coming up on July 12th and they have a "work in progress" category. We got the front and rear of the new headliner glued in place today. I'm getting my 72 Monte ready to go to that, and I installed my core support cover panel, grille, headlight extensions, and the taillight extensions. 6 Quote
72 Monte Carlo Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I'm going to buy some new grille mounting bolts so it will look better than the 53 year old ones that are on it at the moment. Quote

Probably won’t hurt. Make sure you have the correct lower control arms to do that. 1 Quote

Dont need anything crazy Sway is great and I purchased mine from Original Parts Group (and it was in stock - LOL) I also believe that Gabriel makes air shocks for our Monte Carlos as well (Gabriel HiJackers) I need to find the number on mine for reference.
