What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

The 4 wire front plug has a green/white, 2 black/white, and 1 blue wire.

The 2nd plug is 2 wires with a green and a black wire.

Also, on the passenger side floor under the sound deadener there is a blue and black wire heading towards the trunk. What are those two wires for?

It's only been 8 years since I brought the Monte home, so I don't remember where those wires went to.

The aftermarket control arms give you a lot more clearance for the exhaust... Montelishi already has the "boxed" ones, so I stuck with them.

I am watching Doug Harral's posts closely.  Suspension has stirred my interest as it is frame time...

Body is about 3' feet off the ground and I finally got the wheels and dollies on so that I may be able to roll the frame out and back when I can work on the frame.  Needless to say all suspension, bushing are original. 

The rear is on the red jack stands and a 4x4 and it is solid!  The front is sitting on cinder blocks.  I need another set of the jacks as the blocks are not as secure and I have more undercar work to do. There is no brand name on the jacks.  I did try some jacks I bought at Harbor Freight are way too tall at the lowest setting.  Like she said... I just need 3 more inches.  😉

One interesting note: I haven't had a transmission in the wagon since the 70s!

Believe me I am not going under until I get another set of jack stands.  In addition I have the engine hoist on the chains as a backup. Thank you.

All for a car cruise. But hey,! Gotta represent the first gens . I put her under the fluorescent lights , cleaned outside, inside , engine compartment, underneath, 🛞 vinyl top !!. Now, if it doesn’t rain us out this evening! ☔️

My new tool that I made today to clear headers and tight spaces:

Hogged it out to 1/2" so the spark plug will pop through,  cut it down just enough (little under 1") to grab the 5/8" spark plug hex, and I can put a 3/4" wrench on the shorty plug socket.

The only caveat is that your spark plug socket needs to be one that has the hex go all the way down the socket shaft, some don't and only go about half way down the socket shaft (like my other one).

I bought one like that. Made by trickflow.  Awsome yu made that tho..that does work great. ...i still needed a curved wrench but i have 30 yr old long tubes way to go matt!

It was yesterday but I dropped the fuel tank and found a build sheet for my shadow gray 1970 SS.  It was pretty dirty but all the optional equipment is still legible.

It appears it’s pretty intact with few missing pieces. You might try going to Home Depot and get them to cut you 2 pcs. of Plexiglass or real glass about 1/2” bigger than what your build sheet measures. You can sandwich it between them. That will let you work out some of the wrinkles and piece together some of the broken pieces. I used small pieces of Scotch tape on the back to hold them together. Put the plexiglass back on, flip It over, make sure the lines on the front are lined up, flip it back, remove the plexiglass and keep going. When you’re done add some weight and let it sit a couple days. It can get tedious. I found 2 build sheets for mine, and I’ve got at least 3 hours in the real bad one. I completely taped the back with rows of 2” clear packing tape using a small roller to press it down then cut the tape with a razor blade and straight edge even with the paper. You could then get it laminated if you choose. Sorry for the long winded response.

Like scott said i laminated mine. ran it through a few times to make sure it bonded. Someday i will have copies made and put them back in the car where they belong!
