All that work..been 3 mnths..now gitta do all again...fml..figure do a newer cam ..miles well everything friggen else be new. Uggg Man, I guess 3rd time is the charm. Hate to say it, but once it's cracked, no coming back . This time it should be alright.Get the block magna fluxed Before you buy it though(take no chances),and remember, if the price is too good to be true, walk away.I'd find a hydraulic roller close to the specs as the flat tappet you had. That was a good build you did. 3 Quote
Scott S. Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Ever considered swapping to an electric motor ???? There's a guy down in Texas that does them, he did an interesting job on a '67-'67 Mustang. 1 2 Quote
Stuckin70s Posted September 13 Posted September 13 No, but If I had deep pockets, a duramax twin turbo diesel will do 8s and super fuel economy. Chevelle Drag race diesel 2 1 Quote

Scott S. Posted Monday at 05:46 PM Posted Monday at 05:46 PM For the RPM's you're planning to turn, a roller cam is probably the safer bet..... By the time you're done, you'll be able to swap a cam in your sleep. Quote

Scott S. Posted Tuesday at 04:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:17 PM I don't think a small block ever makes the torque that a big block can.... It'll get the horses, but the actual torque fades as you hit the higher RPM's. Decades ago I had a buddy that poured a ton of money and time into a small block, but could never get what he was looking for out of it. Swore up and down that he'd go with a big block next time. madmatt9471 Posted Wednesday at 12:18 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:18 AM You all are making me jealous. In a few weeks I should, hopefully, be able to drive mine to PT for this right hip replacement. I can't wait just to drive again. At least I can buy parts and stuff until then - Lol 😁 Thanks, Matt 4 Quote
