cny first gen 71 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Haven't been able to work on mine because my back is really hurting but my brother (a fird guy) just became a monte carlo owner, not a first gen but a 2001 low mileage well taken care of from original owner and an ss to boot and got a great deal on it. So I got a first gen and he has a last gen. No pictures yet. But he did get his roadster out of the box from it's winter nap. 12 Quote

72 Monte Carlo Posted May 6 Posted May 6 My friend who's going to paint my Monte, told me that we will be spraying the Epoxy primer on my car this next Saturday. Then we can apply a skim coat of bondo on the car and then block and sand it after that. Then primer, paint, clearcoat, etc. It's been such a long time coming to get the car to this point, as I've been waiting on him. 12 Quote

Canuck Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Just for fun, I swapped wheels with my 1973 Olds 442. I was surprised these fit to be honest. 285/40 on 18x9.5 rear. 245/40 on 18x8 on the front. The front end of the Monte is at stock height but could come down about an inch to sit with a nice stance on these wheels. I put these front springs in 20 years ago, I assume they have fully settled by now. 9 Quote

I had to try them on the Monte out of curiosity and they look better than I thought they would. I’ll run them for a while and see if they work for me. If not, I’ll sell them. 3 Quote

"This isn't your Dad's Oldsmobile" ?? 2 Quote
