Need Help. Tonight I heard bubbling in my overflow tank when I shut off my 06 Monte, It lasted about 5 minutes. Can I assume that it's a air pocket, or t'stat or blocked radiator. I have changed the water pump and t'stat about 3 years ago.

No overheating yet. Gauge is showing correct reading. I'll check tomorrow. If it is the head gasket I should have some antifreeze in the oil. Would that be correct.

Thanks

I checked everything this morning. Radiator full, overflow full, drove it went up to correct temp. Keeping my fingers crossed. Can I change from bubbling to saying it was gulping. Thanks.

If I had more time I would address it but I flying out Thur. Morning back to Connecticut and I leaving the 06 Monte here. I can't say where I'm leaving from. Everyone would get mad at me.

Does it bubble or gulp with the engine running or is it only when you shut it off? Is it violent or just small bubbles?

When it happened the engine was off. That is when I heard it. I wouldn't say violent but it only lasted about 5 min. I drove the car this morning and had no problems at all. Maybe the t stat was close a bit. I'm going out again in a few minutes. No overheating. Gauge stays right where it should. If it behaves I will flush the system and install a new t stat and new anti freeze. The anti freeze does smell like it is burnt. Thanks for the help.
