Bluemalibu Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I have recently installed kick panels with the vents (non-AC type) what a difference on a hot day while driving! Hey, great minds think alike, Sam! I did the same as I installed this new Classic Auto Air system. These aftermarket HVACs don't have a fresh air feature, so I installed the manual kick panel vents. rsorg Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi, do you remove the plate that has the caulk around it to seal the plate behind the kick panel, for the fresh air and how did you control the vent to open and close ,thanks Quote
Bluemalibu Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Yes, the entire vent w/flap door is removed and replaced with the manual kick panel vent. It comes with the cable controls to open and close the flapper door. http://www.ss396.com/chevelle/IKP-1440.html 1 Quote
71MonteCarloMD Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I'm wondering what both controls do as one seems not to make any difference? Quote
Sam (Bones) Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 The upper one is for the dash vent, the lower is for the kick panel vent Quote
stangeba Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 When I replaced the heater core I took some pictures of my 71 that never had A/C.
