Aaronz28 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 which factory aluminum intake will fit the oval port heads and clear the hood without modification????LS6 corvette? LS6 Chevelle? 396/375?any help? Quote
LS5 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 You could use the 427 intake GM part number 3937793. It has the "Winters" snowflake up front beside the thermostate housing. Its Alluminum and was equivilant to the Low rise or what they called the Plane intake manifold. You wont have any mods to do for the clearance for the hood at all. Darren. Quote

Aaronz28 Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 and are there any low profile aluminum with the winters logo that accept a Holly square bore and work well with the oval ports? Quote
Sam (Bones) Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 sorry, no factory oval port alum intakes but.... and Edelbrock performer (not the RPM) and grind off the Edelbrock and performer from it, paint it chevy orange and it's hard to tell it's not stock Quote
LS5 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Sorry Sam, As Mentioned but forget to say OVAL PORT YES...... 1968-1969-1970 427 NOT 454 LS6 or L78 396 intakes are all Alluminum and in Oval Port or Rectangular you just have to watch the Part number of course. TOP picture is Rectangular and an LS6 Intake or 396 L78 , the Last 2 pictures are of a 1969 OVAL port Winters alluminum intake and is one of our members up here by me. Darren. Quote
LS5 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Square Port not advisable on the Bottom Oval intake as you would have to put on an adapter plate which would now raise the carb and may hit the hood with air cleaner on it. If you are going through this much trouble to get an Oval winters intake and spending the money to get one go with a Rochester. Darren Quote
