ok guys on my 70 the ash tray light is fibre optic?   was this an option.

On my 71 it has the light bulb.

my 70 is fiber optic and I believe the 71 I did work on years ago was also fiber optic. It does get its light from a bulb in the dash either off the cluster or the heater panel bulb. The 72 I'm doing doesn't have the fiber optic but then again the car has parts from different cars in the interior.

Did all Montes come with a light for the ashtray? I know I don't have one nor do I see where the was ever one in my car. I don't smoke so not a huge issue for me.

Aux light would be a nice upgrade

Truthfully, the light emitted is so dim with the factory option, the best you could expect is that the light identifies location.

But yet, a nice option to have.............
