Guest Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 When I turn on my turn signal it works fine until I step on the brake pedal. Then it stays lit but quits flashing. This only happens on right turns. Left turn signal has no problem.
Grease Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 M&M i believe you will find the problem to be in the turn signal switch . its under the steering wheel in the top of the column. when you use the turn signal it should disconnect the brake light circuit and engage the flasher circuit.it sounds to me like the brake side of the signal switch is not isolating the brake lamp signal to the right side . hope this gets you on the path to repair. mike

wallaby Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 yep, Chevrolet used some clever wiring when they did those lights. The turn indicators will light up on one side when you turn on the headlamps if you have a burned out bulb. I think it's kinda neato, it lets you know from inside the car! Of course, a good old-fashioned walk around will detect those problems....LOL don't forget to check the control cables and ailerons
