fuel pump?

I have a performance mechanical fuel pump for my sbc 406. I have a cousin in law who has a 1970 ford torino that he put together to challenge me in a street race. My question is would it benefit me to run an electric fuel pump with the mechanical one or am I getting to greedy to bust his [censored]? Again thanks in advance for input, $.02,& 411!

If your car doesn't nose over under hard acceleration running through the gears I wouldn't worry about it. Be careful on the street.

If I'm reading you correctly the answer is no.  There is no need for 2 fuel pumps on your engine. - Dave
