Donny vestal Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 My dash is green is green how's the best way to go black Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 First clean it real good, then clean it again, rinse all the cleaner off real good. Then use the SEM stuff. Go to local body shop supply place they will have it. Spray it on nice and even and it will look like new for years. Quote
Leghome Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 You might also ask the paint store if a adhesion promoter should be used. This will make sure the paint adheres. Like Steve said clean it and then clean it again you do not want any contaminants on the surface because they will cause all sorts of bad things to happen. That is one reason I swill never use Armor All on any of my cars inside or out. After working a in a body shop part for 25 years you remember some things vividly. Quote
Donny vestal Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 Thanks guys for the help I'll take you're advice Quote
70bowtie Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 As mentioned above get it clean I used Dawn dish liquid soap and I use Transtar adhesion promoter on the hard surfaces and then wipe it down with lacquer thinner. Had good success with SEM. Leo Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I didn't use any adhesion promoter on my dash pad and no problems several years later but on hard plastic (kick panels) I did, it worked great so I guess you could go eather way. Quote
70bowtie Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Oh on my post above want to clear something up I wipe it down with lacquer thinner before I spray the adhesion promoter not after don't want to confuse anyone. I also did a dash and didn't use it and worked out good. Leo Quote
