Andreas Posted December 15, 2000 Posted December 15, 2000 I received the steel inner fenders from www.musclecarsonly.com yesterday. Only 4 days after order! Upon first inspection, they look very good. All dimensions seem to be equal to the plastic fenders and the pre-drilled mounting holes seem to be in the same spots. They are EDP Powdercoated and therefore corrosion protected. They are much heavier than the plastic fenders, which is probably not a bad thing... Not too bad for $99 a piece... I will take some pics of both plastic and steel and put them on my website soon. It will be a while until I install them, because I will paint the side of the inner fenders facing the engine compartment the same color as the body and the side facing the wheels with POR-15 . MC-71 Posted December 16, 2000 Posted December 16, 2000 Sorry for the test. Been having trouble posting lately. The steel liners you bought are made by Goodmark they are nice and should fit OK. You might have to drill a couple of holes because I think Chevelle fender holes are layed out different. I have new GM liners that I had painted base coat clear coat in black. www.goodmarkindustries.com They supply almost all the repro body parts in everybodys catalog. Get their catalog. It has a lot of stuff.

Do you think you are going to have to modify them to get them to work at all? Did you have a plastic liner out of the car to compare them too? Monte

As far as I can see, I will have to drill two holes, one for the side/parking light grommet and a second one for the additional fender bolt... Guest Posted December 20, 2000 Posted December 20, 2000 The metal and plastic inner fenders mount the same as they are really the same parts. Montes have a different p/n than Chevelles for the plastic ones due to the different holes drilled for the battery tray to me mounted. But if you look at alot of the Chevelles that have been redone and uses plastic inner fenders, you will notice thay are Monte units.
Guest Posted January 8, 2001 Posted January 8, 2001 i got the plastic inner fenders and i cant get them to line up at all. i had the car to the frame rails. it fit to the fender like a glove off the car when it went on it was a different story. they buckeled in towards the motor. i will be tring again come spring any suggestions???!!! ------------------ please restore em' and not crush em'
