ripleydale Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Does anyone know what they call those little seals towards the bottom of the fenders and if they are reproduced?
ripleydale Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Sorry, not near my car. I think they are towards the bottom of the fender and are supposed to keep crap out of the pocket behind the wheel towards the door. I have to believe Jared, Vaughn, Darren must know what I'm referring to. I seem to remember they are maybe about 4x6 inches and kind of slip over some edge. They aren't bolted on or anything.
420ponies Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 He's talking about the fender/front cowl seal that is between the door and fender. elephant ears. I don't think they reproduce those yet. Leo(Konink's ) may have these. in our parts resources page.
71MonteCarloMD Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Is the attached picture what you are referring to? If so, I was told they are not reproduced.
monte70car Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I was thinking the plastic tri-angel piece that bolts on.
RealRed70 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I think what he is talking about is made out of plastic.
Canuck Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Are you talking about these? They are made of plastic and fill the gap between the frame and inner fender.https://www.dixierestorationdepot.com/Product/Detail.aspx?s=DA10222&d=1001&p=1
ripleydale Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks for the responses. I think 420 Ponies is talking about the right things. They do remind me of elephant ears. They were kind of the consistency of a thin mud flap.
LS5 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 These are them elephant ears with the rubber tucked away on the ends. Darren 1
Paul Bell Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 I got this from a Fisher Body Manual but I'm not sure if it's A body or B body.
Paul Bell Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 These are them elephant ears with the rubber tucked away on the ends. Darren I have a pair of these waiting to be installed. No rubber on them, they're just hard plastic. I would call them skirt fillers.
ripleydale Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks boys. Heading to OPGI next week to see what I can bring back in a suitcase.
Canuck Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks boys. Heading to OPGI next week to see what I can bring back in a suitcase. Oooooh! I need inner fenders... will those fit? LOL 1

ripleydale Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 I found some shots in my deconstruction of the pieces I was talking about. Much larger than I remembered.
dejh22 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Are these what you are asking about? Found these with my bag of extra parts.
Paul Bell Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I found it in the assembly guide. Seal upper shroud. No part number.
Paul Bell Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 And just for reference, the things I showed in post 12 above go here:
Paul Bell Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I found more info. The page says "model 13857" so this is a Monte Carlo part only. Confirmed, nobody at Team Chevelle reports seeing them on their cars. It isn't reproduced. GM part numbers 3975835 and 3975836.
71MonteCarloMD Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 The elephant ear part is not reproduced but other part attaching to fender is.
