1406 bogging issue

I have 1406 Edelbrock and when I punch the accelerator it bogs down, then it picks up normally​. I'm told it could be the accelerator pump? Anyone have any similar issues?

How many miles on it? A replacement accelerator pump is only 15 bucks and the springs tend to be soft on edelbrocks, I'd just replace it. Edelbrocks website has great writeups, they also have a writeup on how to adjust it properly. Also, check your base timing make sure it's where it should be, not sure what your engine combo is or if you have both mechanical and vacuum advance.
