Ok Everyone, What do we do for grease in the column? I'm finally getting this back together ( grandpa now) and wanting to know what type of grease to use. it looks brown but still think i can use it. Thoughts?

I'm sure everyone has their preference but I use the "red" wheel bearing grease. Have never had a problem and stays where you put it like the factory grease. That's what GM told the dealer I worked at in the late 80s to use. Lol

Thanks Guys !! No olive oil here. I do have some of the red stuff, from my lower unit (outboard motor) I thought it would be to sticky

Hey  Guys, I got it fixed. It was more of a brace issue along with the ignition rod binding up on the brace. All is good. I used a bearing paste style grease.post-259-0-93319100-1480263543_thumb.jpg
