Joe marino Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Hi everyone has been so helpful I want to change the trim piece on the quarter extension on my 1970 Monte there are 2 screws at the bottom can I somehow losen the bumper up enough to get to the 2 screws thanks Quote
MC1of80 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Hi Joe. Idk if the bumper being loosened will give you enough room to remove the screws. IF your 70 does not have the bumper side cushions, it may be easier to remove the end cap itself. If it has the side cushions you will not be able to do it this way as the cushion is screwed onto the cap and to the body. Just an idea. Good luck. Quote
Joe marino Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 Ok I would feel more confortabe taking off the bumper I’m nervous about taking the quarter extension off the paint on the car is really good I just got it about a year ago and the only pieces of trim that are questionable are the quarter extention pieces and the ss 454 badge both seem to be the hardest thing to do lol thanks for your help Quote
MC1of80 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Ahhhh.. I agree. Removal of the bumper would be best in this case. You are welcome. I tried. Lol Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Yea removing the bumper is not that hard, just remember to unhook the wires. I forgot when I did mine made it a bit harder to do with bumper hanging there. Quote
