will wheels work on rear of monte

will old school weld wheels 15x8 with a 4" off set work on the rear of my monte?   thanks  jeff

Hey Jeff.

   To answer your question.... Yes and no. They will fit BUT you are limited to a narrower tire. 235 to maybe a 255 series. 15x8 with 4in backspacing is the factory specs for the Corvette rally wheel for comparison. 

A 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing will allow a 275/60r15 with no issues. Depends on the look you are looking for.

thanks for your knowledge tom.  a guy has nos weld wheels for sale  15x7 front and 15x8 rear   just wanted another set for something different  they look like sams wheels on his marina blue monte.

I have the weld wheel knock offs from jegs, they are actually vision wheels 15x7 4 inch b/s front 15x8 4.5 b/s on rear with 255-60 on rear have room for more tire too

Here is my 70 SS with 15x8 rally rims, 4.5 bs and 275/60 r15s. Plenty of room.
