While perusing the Internet I came across an Ad offering a 72 Monte Carlo.  While looking over pic's, I noticed there was no radio and was covered with a Delete Plate?  Never seen one before!  Was this a factory option?

Yes there was a radio delete plate. Very rare!

As stated above by Aaron, yes that was an actual thing.  I have seen only one or two others but I don't remember if the corners were squared off like that or rounded.  I do think a number of years ago a member made one on their own but I'm old and don't remember who that was.

It was me. Carl Hanson. Sent it to Kevin our first president. I think Jared ended up with it.

It's interesting that both cars shown here have no AC. My brother would call these stripper cars "the poverty model".

The radio delete plate was a Chevelle delete plate with a wrap on it. I envision the wrap like shelf liner with a sticky side. It looks to match the dash exactly. Too bad that material can't be bought.

When I made that plate that I sent to Kevin I had just enough to cover the plate. The elm burl came in a 6” roll. I tried to get more but it was discontinued.
