MC-71 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I’m looking for an inexpensive Delphi Packard 56 Crimp Tool. This tool crimps the OEM terminals that where used in our Monte’s Quote
Dtret Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Isn’t there a tool listing in the back of that catalog? I know the catalog you said inexpensive. Never mind. Quote
jft69z Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Inexpensive may be hard to find for a real Packard crimper. I got the AAW pair a couple years ago, they work great. Recently I updated and got the MSD type crimper that uses replaceable dies. I already had a crimp body, just needed to get the dies from MSD to work with the tool. AAW tools: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aww-510587 Real good article that deals with the different types. Helped me when I decided to get the MSD dies.: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/electrical-5/seeking-info-proper-crimper-packard-56-terminals-105220/ Quote
MC-71 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Those pictures are from Auveco. Yes they offer crimpers but not for the packard 56 Quote
Blackhawk Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 I'm using the Iwiss ratcheting crimper with the open barrel crimping die ground like shown for the ears. The dies aren't amazing, but they work. The good news is that the frames accept better dies from many other companies. It tends to bend the terminal if above 18 gauge because there isn't a support.
