Dtret Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 All the parts that go on the frame are now done. The frame is ready to be assembled, if it was painted lol. After that I got all that stuff done I moved on to the air ride compressor. 9 Quote

Only because I forget which person I bought them from , because I’m old, but it is a member. I’ll see if I can find the receipt. 1 Quote
Dtret Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 I know it doesn’t look different in pictures but I repainted the frame with a satin to eliminate the shine. I’m locking the doors to the basement to keep everyone out and gain some peace and comfort, let’s see how long that lasts. My goal is to build the frame, that picture was taken 5 minutes ago. Wish me luck. lol. 😝 11 Quote

Stuckin70s Posted August 9 Posted August 9 The frame looks fantastic! I see you have the same convertible floor pan body mounts which have been backordered since January. I hope yours are sound. After watching project farm on youtube evaluate rust paint. I am currently planning on rust oleum brush-on when I get it back from the sand blaster. Thoughts? 1 Quote
Dtret Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 My brother used that but sprayed it( can get to the hard to reach places easier) he said he liked it. I used KBS frame paint but it was super shiny. Didn’t like it. 2 Quote
Scott S. Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I wish I could remember the name of the spray can stuff I used..... Found it at Princess Auto. It's the same stuff I used to redo my cracked dash. It seemed to work for the nooks and crannies in the frame, so I thought it'd do the same for the dash. Holds up pretty good. 1 Quote
Stuckin70s Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Interesting... Other than local shows and occasional road trips I am not picky this is not show piece. I do agree the flat is a better way to go. For now, I am still scraping ziebart so I can get it to the blaster. Thank you. Brad 1 Quote

If you are talking about the two mounts on each side of the front of the frame, all Monte’s are double in the front for the body. 3 Quote

willie Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Dennis, Progress sounds like a forward motion to me. I do miss the sneakers though! I also liked the fact you locked the doors!!! LOL Glad you are back on this path!!!! 3 Quote

I just went and finished the front sway bar and torqued and pinned all the tie rods. I made a big boo-boo though, I forgot to put the upper control arm bumpers in the frame. Not an easy one to cheat fix. I hope I don’t have to pull the springs. lol. 3 1 Quote

See what happens when you rush!! Thats me with the comp awhile ago!! Lol 2 Quote

420ponies Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Just put it down on your "to do list" later in the build, but if you are putting the engine/trans in, that will do it. Lookin' good! At that speed of assembly, you should have it done say, next week? 2 Quote

The cover has not been off the rusty body in almost 3 years ( may not be anything left) so that’s a big fat no on the car. lol. 😂 1 Quote
