Dtret Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 I got this from a member in Kansas. He also had an air cleaner but because of eBay I wasn’t going to pay the price. ( no Glen that isn’t your carb lol) Just for kicks I bolted it on the 55 to see if it was any good. It ran pretty good for sitting a buttload of years ( still better then the one I had rebuilt for my 71) 5 Quote
Dtret Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Chris (member) sold me the rear bumper, 71 front bumper ( possibly better then the one on my 71, I haven’t looked yet) and some miscellaneous parts. I forgot to add this yesterday. 3 Quote

Dtret Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 The last picture shows the original rusted holes sitting on top of the repair. It’s not perfect but it’s ok. 4 Quote
MC1of80 Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Nice job Dennis! I have a few body mounts like that on the 71 402 4 speeds frame. I purchased the "washers" that are to be welded in. That's Kevin's job tho. Lolol l can cut the hole but my welding skills stink. Lol Quote

I didn’t think they would weld correctly so I went this route. Let me know how the washers turn out because I’m curious if I possibly went the wrong direction. I still have two more to do. One I have another piece of frame for, the other may get a washer. 2 Quote
Dtret Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 Another one done. One to go. I think I might be pressing my luck on working in the basement on this. I just set off all the fire alarms in the house. Someone is NOT happy. 2 1 Quote
Dtret Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 So I finally finished all the frame holes I won’t bore you with them but I had a front shock hole that was egg shaped. I snapped the first picture after I started but you get the idea. An 11mm 1/4 drive socket fit perfectly in the other side so that was my goal. I did it. Ya. Something I have never done before. A good learning experience the last couple days. I’m now done with the frame work. It’s ready for sandblasting. 4 Quote
