Cowl vent repair

I need to have a look at mine , what is the best Way? Across the fender or over the motor?

Across the fender. Be careful the Phillips head screws can be a bear to get out sometime.

Thanks Dennis, the rest of dampers  seem to be working OK so I will see if it holds vacuum before I remove it. Have a great Christmas.
